Important Style Lines in Garments
Hey Ladies,
Before joining a merchandising batch , like every layman , stylines just meant normal way of styling for me . But an added advantage of going to a fashion school definitely pumps you up with lots to experiment with . I had this very vivid terminology to styling , which meant just sandwitch all what you have an recreate something , which is partially wrong and partially not wrong . But it ain't right.
So here is the forthcoming Gyan which many of you would feel, Hey i know this , what the big deal but believe me concentration on these style lines will actually assure you whether your creation is a hit or not .
Center Line , which divides your whole body into two halves , centralisation is very important for those who are aspiring to be stylist , freelancing or merchandising or whatever it is you wanna recreate in fashion , home decor or interiors , this is the most important aspect .
Narrowing it down to Necklines: A neckline , begins from the end of your neck to the connectivity of your shoulders . these days assymetrical patterns n styles are adapted to neckline which do not have a centralisation such as single shoulder or a mix of decolletage or v neck etc. Will get into the intricacies of each neckline in the next post .
Shoulder Lines : Many ladies have a wrong idea that a bust and the bottom is the most attractive asset but from my observation a collar bone drives every man wild , which is were we talk about necklines, now if you have a very broad shoulders and plump body , a square neck with cape sleeves would do miracles, it all depends on the proportion of your body . there is no said rule defining an apple from a pear , depends on the curves of each body type . Highly recommend to give more importance to your shoulder line when your carrying an evening dress an off shoulder top or bandage dress. Women with twitched shoulders can wear fluffy and puffy sleeves or even batman sleeves to give more volume .
Bust Lines : This does not need any introduction , just ensure when ever your wearing any kind of an outfit , your wearing the right kind of bra to go along with it . say for example U neck top , do not think about a push up bra . a simple racer back with transperent sleeves would do the trick or a boat neck line , you could go with a strapless bra or regular bra with neud color .
Waist Lines: normally its said that the waist line is defined at the naval but it's actually at an area where your body mass it the smallest , it all depends on the length of your torso , there is no variation to the best or the worst torso , it all depends on your workout regime .
Hip Line : Hips line are define between the waist and the beginning of the hip area . basically where your skirt or jean rests upon . so whenever taking the measurement of your waist do not mistaken it with the hip line .
Three most important lines which define the perspective of your silhouette .
It's spell as ( sil - ho - ate) , basically a shape of a body image .
1) Side back lines - the lines used for defining each body part , incporating all the style lines mentioned above
2) Princess Front lines - these a placed right from the center of your shoulder passing through the center of your chest .
3) Empire lines - defining the beginging of your waiste to the naval length .
These style line are very helpful for sketch work as well as construction of your own garments or re-engineering of your used clothes for the purpose of apparel or decor piece .
Hope you guyz liked the new post on style line and will thank you for the comment on previous post , have tried to incorporate as many changes , ofcourse there is no end to trying to achieve perfection , please feel free to comment , next post is going to be on the principles and elements of design , very helpful for merchandising and designing fanatics .
